The Maraya brand of organic roots and herbs is the brainchild of 67 years old Dr. Richard Taiwo, an alternative medical practitioner.
Dr. Taiwo is the son of a pharmacist, the progenitor of Onward Chemist with several branches in Ibadan, Lagos, and some other cities in the southwest region of Nigeria. After graduating BSc. honors in Food Technology he crossed over to the USA, Kansas State for his post-graduate degrees in Cereal Technology and Baking Science and Technology. Dr. Taiwo has always believed in the Mantra that if you don't make your food your medicine, sooner than you expected your medicine will become your food.
Maraya was a child of circumstances.
For over 2 years, Dr Taiwo's wife was diagnosed of insulin-dependent diabetes. An ailment that cost the family eleven million plus over the period of two years before she finally gave up the ghosts.
The death of Mrs. Taiwo was what prompted Dr. Taiwo to go into the study of traditional medicine at the Lagos State Traditional Medicine board for an intensive 6 months course.
Three years after graduation, and having acquired a lot of practical experience from several established traditional medicine practitioners, Maraya Herbal Clinic was formally established in the year 2015. Maraya Herbal Elixir was the flagship product which initially comprises about 23 various herbs and roots to provide relief for such ailments as arthritis and rheumatism, indigestion, and insomnia. Over time when it graduated to as many as 53 herbs, it can further provide relief for sufferers of :
